Best Sights & Activities -(Public Golf Courses)
Avalon Lakes Golf Course
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
One American WayWarren OH 44484 330-856-8898
Description:
The variety found at this wonderful course is a refreshing change. With fairways that vary in width and a different challenge around every turn, you'd better stay alert here. Built on relatively flat terrain, you will find these greens to be larger than most, and the subtle breaks can make putting the biggest challenge of all. Water will come into play on about half the holes.
Fowler's Mill Golf Course
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
13095 Rockhaven RdChesterland OH 44026 440-729-7569
Description:
CHESTERLAND. One look at its signature railroad ties, and you'll know that Fowler's Mill boasts classic Pete Dye style. With three 9-hole courses, the facility features three possible 18-hole configurations. Gradual elevation changes, flowing bunkers, and a variety of water hazards are all found on these excellent courses. A former host site for US Open qualifying, the complex is championship caliber.
Hilliard Lakes Golf Club
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
31665 Hilliard RdWestlake OH 44145 440-871-9578
Description:
Keeping the ball between the tight tree lines is a challenge on this demanding course. With narrow fairways and large greens, strokes can add up quickly if you aren't hitting the ball particularly well. Punch shots are to be expected if you miss these fairways, and long first putts on the large greens greatly increase the chances at a three putt. Avoid the bunkers and water protecting these greens for the best chance at a good round.
Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
11414 Caves RdChesterland OH 44026 440-729-1963
Description:
The trees lining these fairways will typically knock down most errant tee shots, so even though this isn't a terribly long course, miss the tee shot and you will struggle to hit the green in regulation. With rolling fairways, you will likely find several interesting bounces and a few uneven lies. With little water in play, you should be concerned about the bunkers since they show up in many landing areas and around most greens.
Pine Hills Golf Club
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
433 W 130th StHinckley OH 44233 330-225-4477
Description:
HINCKLEY. This course has the ability to test the best players around, but it still provides a fair challenge for beginners. Most of the fairways produce uneven lies since the course was built on extremely hilly terrain. Avoid the tight tree line and keep the ball in the short grass off the tee so you can have the best chance to hit the well-bunkered greens.
